The ArteBasilicata.it project was created as an independent web portal entirely dedicated to the promotion, enhancement, and dissemination of the artistic and cultural landscape of Basilicata. The main goal is to create a single shared digital archive where artists, associations, events, and cultural sites of Basilicata can find space, visibility, and connection.
Origin and Vision
This project combines my sensibility as a photographer and visual storyteller with my skills as a systems administrator. During my journey with Un giro in Basilicata, I clearly perceived the need for a platform that went beyond individual exhibition, configuring itself as a true ecosystem for local creatives.
ArteBasilicata.it is dedicated to the memory of Rocco "BEAT" Romano, a Lucanian artist of extraordinary talent whose vision of a shared, accessible, and free art inspired the birth and soul of this portal.
Structure and Platform Content
The website is divided into key sections aimed at mapping and highlighting local creativity:
- The Artists: A comprehensive directory gathering profiles of talents born or active in Basilicata, spanning painting, sculpture, photography, music, writing, theater, design, and architecture.
- The Event Calendar: A constantly updated cultural agenda highlighting exhibitions, concerts, book presentations, and theatrical performances across the Lucanian territory.
- Art Places: A visual guide to exploring galleries, archaeological sites, museums (such as the MUSMA in Matera), and outdoor installations throughout the region.
- Associations: A connecting space to give voice and visibility to non-profit entities actively promoting culture in small villages.
Technology and AI Collaboration
The development of ArteBasilicata.it also represents a wonderful chapter of collaboration between human and Artificial Intelligence. The portal was developed by integrating modern web technologies to ensure speed, accessibility, and a refined user experience. The responsive architecture and minimal, dark design put the artworks front and center, letting visual beauty speak directly to the visitor.
A digital bridge connecting the past, present, and future of Lucanian culture.
