This short film, created for a 2013 film competition, is part of my journey to enhance and rediscover the Lucanian territory.
The Dream of a Lucanian Journey
The narrative adopts a lighthearted and dreamlike tone: the protagonist is a carefree bather who, relaxing on the beach (evoking the Ionian shores of Metaponto or the Tyrrhenian coast of Maratea), falls asleep under the sun. Unaware of what is about to happen around him, the man begins a fantastic and surreal journey through the mountain landscapes and historic villages of the Lucanian hinterland, remaining comfortably seated on his beach lounger that magically floats through space and time.
A Lighthearted and Dynamic Rhythm
Unlike more nostalgic tones, this video is accompanied by a rhythmic and carefree soundtrack, which playfully marks the stages of this imaginary journey. The lounge chair moves between stone alleyways, Apennine peaks, and badlands expanses, creating a fun visual contrast with strong emotional impact that invites visitors to rediscover the diversity of the Lucanian landscape.
The work constitutes the second chapter of the video trilogy dedicated to the territory, alongside the short film Basilicata, remember me.
